Key Responsibilities:

Provide quality, holistic case management support within the context of a strength based, person centred and trauma informed perspective.
Exercise judgement, initiative and decision-making practices which considers and promotes cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
Work collaboratively with client to promote their rights of self-advocacy, autonomy and independence.
Work from an integrated support model to enable responsive, specialised and collaborative outcomes for the client.
Assessment and prioritisation of client safety through the identification, assessment and management of risk, including the development of safety plans where required.
Provide tailored support to victims of crime from diverse backgrounds and communities.
Provide advocacy and liaison services on behalf of the client when needed.
Provide the client with timely and relevant information to support them to make autonomous and informed decisions about their life.
Uphold and champion best practice and quality in service delivery to clients.
Maintain accurate and up to date client files and records in line with the organisation’s information, record keeping and compliance standards.
Monitor and assess referrals to the case management service, in line with the organisation’s policies and practices.
Participation in case reviews and discussions with line manager and clinical services team.
Have a clear, working knowledge of relevant policies and practices related to client intake, safety, support and case management.
Provide regular reports on cases to the Project Manager, LWHRC to identify any emerging issues or gaps in services for evaluation purposes.

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualifications in relevant discipline (Social Work, Human Services, Allied Health, Social Science)
At least 2 years’ experience working in relevant field, with demonstrated ability to competently perform all the requirements of the position.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the effects and causes of domestic violence from a feminist perspective including knowledge of cultural differences and needs.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written skills.
A high level of skill in providing case management to clients including advocacy and crisis intervention.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of legislation impacting on situations of domestic and family violence.
Ability to work autonomously with clients to maximise optimal outcomes whilst utilising a team approach to develop and enhance client options.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment to attain organisational goals.
Ability to liaise with government and non-government agencies and to advocate on behalf of clients.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders to ensure resources and information is up to date.

Other requirements:

Current NSW driver’s licence
Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening checks
Right to Work in Australia
