Position OverviewMelbourne River Cruises, a leading tourism operator specialising in sightseeing, hospitality, and events, is seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Assistant. This role offers an exciting entry point into the tourism industry, perfect for a final-year Marketing or Tourism student looking to gain hands-on experience with a company renowned for its expertise and innovation.
The Marketing Assistant will support our Marketing Manager in executing strategies, creating content, and maintaining a strong online and offline brand presence. This is an ideal opportunity to learn marketing strategies in a dynamic environment while contributing to the success of a celebrated tourism brand.
Key Responsibilities- Content Creation: Design and produce promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and posters, in both electronic and print formats.
- Digital Marketing: Assist with social media management (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google) and update third-party listings (Viator, TripAdvisor, Klook, Red Balloon).
- Campaign Management: Run and optimise Google Ads campaigns to align with business objectives.
- Email Marketing: Design and execute email direct marketing (EDM) campaigns to engage and retain customers.
- Customer Interaction: Respond to customer reviews on Google and TripAdvisor to maintain a positive online presence.
- Website Management: Update website content using WordPress, including copywriting, image selection, and site map development.
- Data Management: Accurately handle data entry tasks and maintain detailed reports.
- Industry Engagement: Assist with submissions for industry awards and recognition.
- Booking System Management: Update and manage products in the FareHarbor booking system, ensuring all details are accurate and current.
What We’re Looking For- Education: Final-year Marketing or Tourism student based in Melbourne.
- Skills:
- Strong graphic design skills (Canva and Capcut proficiency essential).
- Familiarity with CRM tools and automation is a bonus.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and Google Ads.
- Understanding of third-party platforms like Viator and TripAdvisor.
- Experience with WordPress or other website management tools.
