About the Role:
The Executive Engagement Specialist provides advice to senior stakeholders and operates with a high level of autonomy. The role contributes to and executes the communications strategy and provides engagement support to Marketing and Communications, Executive Leadership and the Change/PMO teams. This role works closely with senior members of Melba management to develop compelling and creative ways to engage across the organisation to achieve strategic and communications plan-based objectives.
What you’ll be doing (Key accountabilities)
- Provide strategic communications and engagement support and advice to executive leaders and other leaders as required, introducing innovative ways to engage and drive impact across Melba.
- Contribute to strategic direction and support the delivery of departmental objectives.
- Support executive level input and adherence to social media strategy and implementation.
- Develop and support the execution of end-to-end communication and engagement plans, for various stakeholders, including the preparation of materials and stakeholders to execute against the plan and report on impact
- Lead communication and innovative engagement activities across leadership initiatives such as monthly leadership team meetings and organisational wide Town Halls including but not limited to agendas, speaker notes, presentations, preparing presenters, delivery support and reporting.
- Write and produce a range of executive material including presentations for different audiences for example, Melba presentations, and industry events.
- Develop content in a range of formats including print, visual and audio that is targeted to our stakeholders and specific audiences identified in communications plans.
- Provide engagement support to members of the executive team and other identified leaders.
- Create engagement supports that build linkages between organisational strategy and day to day work of teams and individuals.
- Support project specific communications and engagement activities.
- Monitor and update website and intranet content where relevant.
Your Background (Skills)
- 7+ years’ experience in a communications and engagement role, supporting senior and executive leaders.
- A degree in communications or a similar qualification.
- Advanced presentation development skills e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva.
- Experience and excellent skills in developing and distributing communications in a large, multi-faceted organisation.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills with a close eye for detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to build trust with senior executives and a strong track record preparing strategic communications advice and materials.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects to successful outcomes.
- Excellent computer literacy and digital communications know-how. Capability in design packages, eDM software and SharePoint is a definite plus. Strong application of Microsoft 365 suite, including Microsoft Teams functionality.
- Strong content skills.
- Ability to write according to Plain English and Easy English principles.
- Experience in the disability and/or community services sector an advantage.
Requirements: A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).
