AEP is an environmental consulting company based in Newcastle (Carrington) and Sydney (Petersham), with approximately 60 staff working throughout NSW. Our business is growing, and we are seeking an experienced candidate to manage all HR matters within AEP.
Our initial thought is that the role is probably a Part Time position at approx. 20-25 hours per week based from our Carrington office, however we are open to discussing any working arrangement that may suit the right candidate.
The Role
- Develop, implement and continually monitor HR strategies, policies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Maintain all required HR related systems and datasets
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Manage the recruitment advertising and interview process in conjunction with Management
- Issue letters of offer, employment packs and contracts
- Ensure new employees are run through and conversant with Company Policies and Procedures
- Develop and update Position Descriptions, linked to a clear skills / remuneration structure
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Nurture a positive working environment – the “vibe” is critical
- Develop, oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Manage staff reviews process (annual, probation, other) in conjunction with Management
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Maintain and update a functional Staff Organisation Structure
- Manage staff leave requests
- Direct report to the Managing Director
- Work closely with Business Manager – Administration & Finance
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
- People oriented and results driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
