habbot is an independent footwear brand for individual women. Designed in Melbourne and handmade in Italy using only the finest materials and time-honoured techniques, our premium shoes and accessories combine comfort, charm, spirit and surprise.
We are primarily an eCommerce business, with a combined studio store, warehouse and office space located in Collingwood. We have a small team who are passionate about independent design, slow fashion and quality Italian-made accessories.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting new opportunity within our marketing team. We’re seeking an experienced, motivated Social Media & Content Marketing Coordinator to join our friendly, flexible and supportive workplace.
The key purpose of this newly created role is to support the Head of Marketing in implementing the marketing plan and campaigns, and showcase our brand on social media. You will grow our sales and brand through content creation - driving reach, growth and engagement on our social media channels. You’ll also execute a range of broad digital marketing activities including but not limited to blog-writing, influencer management, and some agency / stakeholder liaison.
This is the perfect role for an ambitious junior marketer who is keen for career growth and the ability to stretch your creative / content marketing legs! Using your amazing skills, you will build on what we have created to date and work with the team to take our marketing and social media into the future.
This role is ideally 4 days per week, but we’re open to negotiating flexible days and hours for the right candidate. The role is primarily office-based with some flexibility to work from home.
The Role
Reporting to our Head of Marketing, tasks for this position include:
- Support the implementation of the marketing plan that includes year-round marketing activities.
- Coordinate our influencer and content creator liaison program, organising events, gifting opportunities and content activations for creator partners.
- Blog writing & posting, ensuring alignment with other marketing streams and events. Liaise with our SEO agency to determine trends and keywords to inform the content strategy.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and agency partners to align content with our overall brand strategy and marketing goals. Drive alignment between paid and organic social strategies.
- Assist with eDM writing / execution when required.
- Support the Head of Marketing and Managing Director with other projects as required, including photo shoots, brand campaigns and PR campaigns.
- Develop, own and monitor our organic social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok, with tasks including:
- Create high-quality and visually appealing content including graphics, videos and written posts. Ideate, produce and edit reels.
- Keep across industry and platform trends on social media
- Ensure a constant stream of engaging proactive and reactive content
- Engage with our online community, responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
- Measure and analyse social media results, and make recommendations on where to invest time and resources
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum 2-3 years previous experience in digital or social media marketing
- Be a social native with a strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms and best practices, community management, video and stills content creation.
- Have hands-on video/reel content creation experience (examples required).
- Have strong communication and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Be creative, and have fresh ideas that are aligned with our brand vision, audience and aesthetic
- Have an interest in writing, with creative copywriting experience (long and short form)
- A willingness and confidence to liaise with external stakeholders including content creators, editors, agencies and designers
- Work well autonomously and in a small team - being self-motived, show initiative and with strong problem-solving abilities
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise
- A passion to excel in a super hands-on environment, working at pace when deadlines require
Things we’d love to see (but not essential):
- Experience with content management systems and marketing automation platforms (Klaviyo, Sked or similar)
- Relevant tertiary qualification favourable but not mandatory
- Experience within an eCommerce marketing environment (and exposure to Shopify)
- Experience with design programs including Canva and Adobe Suite
- A confidence / willingness to appear in organic social content
- A passion for quality footwear & accessories and independent fashion
- An understanding of SEO and how it relates to content creation
