The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for WAMA’s online presence and engagement: managing the website, EDMs, social platforms (Instagram, Facebook), and event ticketing alongside the development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of proactive, high-impact and integrated marketing campaigns. Furthermore, the Marketing and Communications Manager will work alongside exhibition staff and guest curators to develop compelling and accessible exhibition interpretation.
The position aims to increase awareness and understanding of the WAMA site, program, vision and values, driving participation and ticket sales, and enhancing user experience. The Marketing & Communications Manager will ensure that messaging is on-point and on-brand.
This is a 3-day/week role with extra work negotiable on a pro-rata basis.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
- Strong interest in art and the environment.
- Experience developing, implementing and measuring marketing and
- communications strategies for different audiences using a range of communications channels.
- Experience in managing and updating website content.
- Versatile communicator with the ability to produce engaging and audience
- appropriate copy for website, newsletters and collateral, as well as more specialised arts writing.
- Good time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent computer literacy across a range of systems.
- Ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience using Google and Facebook analytics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Current Australian Driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Proficient in design software (i.e. Adobe Suite, Canva), with ability to create visually sophisticated, user friendly graphics.
- Photography and videography experience.
- Experience working with artists.
