Working under the direction of the Coin Shop Supervisor, the Sales Representative is responsible for over the counter sales of numismatic and non-numismatic products, and providing customer service. They assist visitors of the Mint including collectors, school groups, and domestic and international tourists buying numismatic products, souvenirs and gifts.
Under limited supervision, the Sales Representative assists with opening and closing procedures, merchandising, marketing and inventory control. They are responsible for accounting for money’s received including balancing daily takings and reconciling any discrepancies. They are required to maintain accurate records relating to sales and inventory.
The available positions are part-time shift work on a set roster, including weekends and public holidays, and during holiday periods. You will be asked to nominate the shifts you wish to be considered for as part of your application.
The successful applicant is required to work on-site.
The duties of this position include:
- Assisting in the day-to-day activities of the Mint Shop, including counter sales of all numismatic and non-numismatic products and responding to counter enquiries from visitors.
- Providing assistance with Shop and Public Press opening and closing procedures.
- Store merchandising, shop marketing and inventory control (including stock takes and loss prevention).
- Receipting and accounting for monies received, including balancing daily takings and reconciling discrepancies.
- Creating and maintaining accurate records in relation to sales and inventory.
Security clearance
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
