Who is STAR Community Services?
We are an award-winning not-for-profit organisation providing a range of aged care services including Home Care Packages, NDIS and disability support services since 1996. STAR supports the elderly and people with disability to live independently, engage with the wider community and achieve their goals. With the generous support of local community volunteers, we offer a wide range aged care and disability support services to ensure that the vulnerable members of our community can access affordable and reliable services such as Home Care Packages, transport, in-home help, social activities, companionship and more. We are an advocate of inclusive communities where people of all ages and abilities have equal access to opportunities and facilities. Fighting social isolation is a key area of focus for STAR. We regularly organise programs and events to help reduce the growing problem of social isolation amongst the elderly and people with disabilities. We are currently servicing Redlands, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast & Toowoomba areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Grants and Awards:
- Research and identify grant and award opportunities.
- Prepare and submit applications for funding.
- Monitor and report on the progress of funded projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with funding organizations.
- Attend networking meetings as needed.
Community Event Coordination:
- Support planning and execution of community fundraising events.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue, catering, and volunteers.
- Promote events through social media and community networks.
- Offer hands-on support during events.
Donor and Sponsor Engagement:
- Draft thank-you letters and impact reports for donors and sponsors.
- Represent the organization at events and meetings with professionalism.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Keep detailed records of fundraising activities and sponsorship agreements.
- Generate reports on fundraising performance and donor engagement.
Communication and Outreach:
- Help create promotional materials to boost fundraising visibility.
- Engage with local businesses and community groups to foster partnerships.

What will you bring to the role?
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is preferred.
· Experience: Previous experience in fundraising, Grant Writing, event coordination, or a similar administrative role is desirable.
· Skills:
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused attitude.
