An exciting new opportunity to join our thriving community health care organisation and work within a truly supportive and valued based culture and engaged workforce. We are currently seeking an experienced Dentist Level 2-3 to join our Dental Team at Access Health & Community – Ashburton.
This is a Part Time Max Term Maternity Contract Starting date: 14/01/2025 End date: 17/12/2025 working on Tuesday & Wednesday
You will have the ability to contribute to the provision of high quality, efficient and effective dental health care to eligible clients, within the scope of publically funded dental services, in accordance with Access Health & Community policies and procedures.
A high level of experience knowledge and skills in undertaking clinical duties with the ability to independently undertake clinical duties.
You would be part of a multidisciplinary dental team comprising of dentists, dental therapists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetics, oral health educators and dental assistants.
The AccessHC dental program provides community based dental care to all children under 12 yrs of age, Adult concession card holders and their dependents (under 18 yrs). In addition, we offer a range of private services to our eligible & non-eligible clients who wish to access our private clinic.
What you will be doing
- Provide dental care in accordance with Access Health & Community and Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) policies and clinical guidelines, within the scope of public dental services and the dental board of Victoria
- Deliver high quality, efficient & effective dental care
- Adopt a multidisciplinary team approach in the delivery of care
- Ability to work in a consultative manner with AccessHC dentists, dental/oral health therapists and prosthetics
- Where appropriate, refer complex treatment plans and ensure appropriate referrals to more experienced practitioners or specialists
- Provide clinical support and direction to less experienced staff
- Adhere to AccessHC OH&S, Infection Control and Record Keeping Standards
What you will bring
Key Selection Criteria
- AHPRA registration as a Dentist
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with at least 6 months within Australia
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical dentistry and guidelines
- High level of clinical competence and broad relevant experience in all aspects of dentistry
- Excellent interpersonal & communication and time management skills
- Exceptional customer service and client management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
- Knowledge of electronic patient management system Titanium/Exact
- Previous experience in community dental /private practice
- Experience in oral health promotion and outreach activities
