What is our Lived Experience Educator role?
The WA Eating Disorders Outreach and Consultation Service (WAEDOCS) is a state-wide service focused on ensuring youth (>16 years) and adults in WA living with an eating disorder are able to access optimal best practice treatment and care. This is achieved through up-skilling and inspiring health care professionals to deliver evidence-based, high quality eating disorders care.
This newly-created position provides education, training and support to health professionals and the lived experience workforce in eating disorder services about the lived experience of eating disorders. The position works collaboratively within the WAEDOCS team to assist in the development, facilitation and evaluation of education and training content. It also provides reflective practice opportunities to peer support workers in clinical eating disorders services.
You will be a committed and innovative individual whose actions, interactions and partnerships achieve high quality person-centred care. You will embody the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) Values and make a real difference by providing safe quality care through expertise and teamwork.
While your professional and lived experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At NMHS, we aim to ensure our behaviours reflect our core values: Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity.
