An exciting opportunity has become available for a Casual Childcare Chef to join the team and encourage our little one’s true potential in a nurturing environment at our Artarmon, Genius childcare centre.
Your new centre
Conveniently located just off the M1 in Artarmon, our childcare centre is a modern, purpose-built childcare centre that offers early childhood education for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years and is conveniently open from 07:00am – 6:00 pm.
The modern indoor space is bright and filled with light to create an inspiring learning environment. Filled with resources to support the children’s development, the classrooms are like a home away from home.
Your new role
- Cook and prepare nutritious meals for children
- Flexible food budget that allows you to create meals and menus according to nutritional guidelines and seasonal produce with ongoing support from the centre manager
- The ideal candidate would work 7:30-3:30 or 8:00-4:00
- Uphold Cleanliness standards and ensure the kitchen operates within the food safety license, NQS and governing regulations
- Follow and complete food safety documents required for the Food Safety Plan
- Sound knowledge and understanding of food allergies and dietary requirements
- Responsible for ordering all supplies required through local suppliers
- Invited to plan cooking experiences for children and be a consistent valued member both within the team and by the children and families

What YOU need
- Cert III in commercial cookery
- Relevant working with children checks, and food safety certificates
- Previous experience running a kitchen, cooking in a childcare, nursing home, school canteen or similar catering environment.
