THE COLLEGE
Established in 2003 MBBC is a P – 12 boys’ school set in the leafy bayside suburb of Manly West. It currently has 500 plus enrolments. At MBBC the Primary School consists of Years Prep to 6 with the Primary School Years 7 – 12. As an International Baccalaureate World school, Moreton Bay Boys’ College offers the great benefits of an internationally recognised approach to education. Our globally-focused syllabus helps boys connect with the world around them – managing, constructing and deconstructing knowledge and applying it to different contexts and experiences. Teachers use the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate to plan inquiry-based, differentiated units covering all aspects of the Australian Curriculum. Senior boys follow the QCAA pathways with the majority of boys obtaining an ATAR.
POSITION
The College is seeking a suitably experienced
Early Years Teacher Aide to support the classroom teacher and assist students in their learning within the classroom. This is a fixed-term, part-time position for the 2025 school year, commencing on 17 January 2025.
- The Teacher Aide is appointed by the CEO and Executive Principal, reporting to the Head of Primary, and is responsible to the Principal.
- The role of the Teacher Aide in the College is focused on contributing to the provision of a quality educational service. This involves assisting and supporting teachers to cater for the needs of students who require extra assistance to reach their potential. This involves supporting students with learning experiences and providing practical support for students and staff.
- The Teacher Aide is expected to support the College community (Principal, staff, students and parents) in the continued promotion of the philosophy and Strategic Plan of the College. All employees are expected to respect the confidentiality of the individual, and to treat all members of the College community with courtesy.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist Teachers in the classroom, with small groups of students with the teaching of the curriculum.
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and specific lessons and planning and presenting class displays of students’ work.
- Assist in the preparation of computer-generated materials for use by students and the teacher.
- Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment where the unique needs of each individual students are met.
- Arrange educational and play activities outside and inside the classroom to support wellbeing and curriculum.
- Carry out other duties as requested by the classroom Teacher, Head of Primary and Principal.
- Support the College’s Admissions program by publicly and privately supporting the College to past, present and future families.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in similar role
- Cert III in Educational Support desirable
- Competent in us of Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage a range of stakeholders
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Working with Children Suitability Card is essential.
- First Aid Certificate is desirable.
CONDITIONS AND SALARY
- Hours of Duty: 7.6 hours per day, 4 days per week, Monday – Thursday.
- Term time + 1 week, fixed term
- The position is classified as School Officer Level 3, with a starting rate of $31.93 per hour. The salary will be determined based on experience, in accordance with the Moreton Bay Boys’ College Enterprise Agreement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office and classroom environments with some travel accompanying students around and off campus for excursions.
