What You Will Be Doing
An opportunity exists for an experienced Allied Health Professional with skills in working with older people and coordinating and delivering activities programs at The Mornington Centre. In this role you will plan, coordinate and deliver a specialised activity program for patients with age related cognitive impairment including dementia, delirium and depression that is tailored to reflect the individual goals and needs of the patient. You will be providing both 1:1 and group activities, and contributing to patient care as part of a supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team. You will supervise Leisure and Lifestyle assistants, students and support the Senior Occupational Therapist with service planning. We are seeking an individual with qualifications in Diversional Therapy, Recreation Therapy or Occupational Therapy with relevant skills and experience in an aged care or subacute setting. You will be creative, engaging, collaborative, flexible and resilient in working as part of the multidisciplinary team.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Diversional Therapy, Recreation Therapy or Occupational Therapy
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver programs and interventions to people with dementia, cognitive impairments and/or changed behaviours
Ability to assess patients’ needs and preferences and deliver meaningful diversional therapy interventions and programs
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Developing leadership skills

- Please refer to salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
