The Opportunity
Insitu Pacific is seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join our growing team
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities within a defined market segment, preparing bids and proposals, and assisting with the development of business strategy for the growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to business growth by identifying possible new business opportunities by engaging customers and other stakeholders and undertaking market shaping activities.
- Provides subject matter expertise and advice to any opportunities being addressed by the Business Development team.
- Formulates bids and proposals by coordinating various inputs providing networking and scheduling data and producing the total proposal.
- Develops campaign strategies, customer contact and action plans, and provides formal briefings to senior management.
- Assists with the development of business strategy by providing appropriate market data and up-to-date assessments of business opportunities.
- Improves the profile of the business by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers.
- Contributes to the achievement of small programs by acting as program manager and providing commercial advice to line management.
- Represents Insitu Pacific at trade shows, conferences and industry functions as required.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in business development and/or sales within Defence Force environments.
- The ability to develop networks, relationships and create new business opportunities within a defined market segment.
- Excellent understanding of engineering/technical concepts with a preferred focus on autonomous systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of Asia Pacific Defence Force procurement environments, processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and contribute at a high level within the organisation.
- Excellent ability to conduct presentations and demonstrations to customers.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications such as a degree in Business.
- Domain experience and knowledge on the application of autonomous systems within the military, para-military or commercial environment or a combination of these.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Demonstrated experience of training and/or sustainment operations in defence environments.
- Understanding of export compliance issues and procedures.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
- Eligible for or hold an Australian Security Clearance to NV1 level.
- You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024. Please refer to the Department of Defence website to understand these requirements.
