About the role
Mater Health has an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team based at our South Brisbane campus in our Day Therapy Rehabilitation unit. This will see you join a multifaceted service and will be a part-time position working 20 hours a week.
Salary range: $41.87- $57.80 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As an experienced Occupational Therapist, your expertise will be invaluable to the multidisciplinary team in the Rehabilitation Unit, treating our Day Therapy patients and co-ordinating the Day Therapy service.
You will work with Nursing staff, Visiting Medical Officers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Worker, Speech Pathologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Dieticians and Pharmacists to ensure best patient outcomes are achieved.
As an Occupational Therapist you will be experienced in providing exceptional service to adult patients and contributing to a multidisciplinary team, managing caseloads, measuring outcomes and dedication to continuous improvement. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of the requirements for contributing to a safe workplace in a rehabilitation environment.
About you
The successful applicant will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (no restrictions)
- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist in a Rehabilitation setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge, and skills in assessment and management of patients with reconditioning and orthopaedic conditions.
- Knowledge and skills in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions is desirable, but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional occupational therapy clinical services of a complex nature, managing caseload priorities and discharge planning
You will be a strong and confident communicator, communicating effectively with patients, families and professional colleagues at all times.
