About the role
We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support the speech pathology team at Orange Health Service. This position is a temporary part time Allied Health Assistant role within the general hospital, providing clinical and administrative support.
As the Allied Health Assistant for speech pathology, you will be under the direction of a speech pathologist. Within this role you will be required to complete delegated clinical care activities to support the delivery of high-quality care to consumers. You will additionally be required to complete administrative duties to support the effective and efficient functioning of the Speech Pathology team.
Key responsibilities may include;
- Assisting in the implementation of therapeutic programs under the direction of the speech pathologist.
- Supervising and supporting consumers during intervention sessions.
- Monitoring and reporting consumer progress or any concerns to the supervising speech pathologist.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Maintaining accurate client records and documentation,
- Assisting with the preparation of progress reports and intervention notes.
- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining therapy equipment and materials.
- Organising and managing supplies required for intervention sessions.
- Ensuring the intervention environment is safe, clear, and conducive to consumer needs.
- Work collaboratively with the speech pathology team to deliver high-quality services.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of group therapy sessions.
You will be provided with support and supervision as well as education opportunities.
This position also has the flexibility to be completed during school hours.
