About the department:
The North East Continuing Care Service (NECCS) provides assessment, treatment and care to consumers in their local community through the provision of direct care services, case management, health promotion activities and community development within a Recovery Focused framework. The service operates in business hours.
About the role:
As the Consultant Psychiatrist, NECCS, you will be required to provide comprehensive and high-quality evidence-based psychiatric services to consumers and their families or support networks. The consultant psychiatrist positions are important leadership roles within the organisation. You will be working with a team of professionals to make a difference to consumers impacted by mental health difficulties.
This role is a unique opportunity to have a real impact in meeting the needs of one of our community’s most complex and vulnerable cohorts. You will form solid working relationships within the pre-existing community teams and foster strong therapeutic relationships with your clients. We support rehabilitation goals using best evidence-based frameworks and assertive case management.
To be successful in this role you must:
Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum, and
