About the opportunity:
ESCG is a successful model of housing for people who have experienced chronic homelessness and provides permanent affordable housing to 131 people, 65 of whom have experienced chronic homelessness and have multiple and complex support needs. The model also provides 24-hour on-site support/concierge services, with a number of allied health and recreation/educational services also located on site. Launch Housing provides support services and Unison manage all property and tenancy services.
The Elizabeth Street development is the first of its kind in Australia and is based on five key elements:
- Permanent – offering self-contained, high-quality housing
- Safe – 24-hour staffing and controlled secure access to the building and apartments
- Affordable – with rents set at a maximum of 30% of income
- Supportive – with onsite supports to help stabilise and sustain housing
- Diverse - a social mix of tenants ensuring a thriving community (131 studio apartments)
The Wellbeing officer aims to encourage and empower clients to participate in health promotion, wellbeing activities and to provide a harm reduction focus within Elizabeth Street Common Ground. This role focuses on coordinating and / or facilitating activities, events and education for the residents of Elizabeth Street. This is achieved working collaboratively with the client support team of Case Managers, AOD Outpost Worker and Nurses, and networking within the wider community services.
This role will also support and contribute to the smooth operation of the Front of House area. This includes undertaking a range of administrative tasks and other activities as directed by the Management team. In this capacity you will work collaboratively with the Concierge, the afterhours and tenancy management teams to ensure the ongoing well-being of 65 formerly homeless tenants, and act as agents on behalf of the landlord after business hours and on weekends.
This role is permanent, part-time (38 hours per fortnight) and based in Melbourne CBD.
