About the Sleep Laboratory
The Sleep Laboratory is a large clinical laboratory service performing a comprehensive range of diagnostic patient testing, and treatment implementation and optimisation serces. The laboratory plays a cornerstone role in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and has links to the wider hospital service as well as having links to other clinical services and academic institutions. It provides services to the state-wide Victorian Respiratory Support Service for patients with respiratory failure and has a proud association with the Institute for Breathing and Sleep.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sleep Scientist (Grade 1 or 2) to join our team at Austin Health, where you will work with a team of professionals who are passionate about providing evidence based care to improve the quality of sleep in our patients. This position includes the setup of sleep studies in the home and in the sleep laboratory.
A regular day will see you:
- Setting-up overnight sleep studies in the home of the patient
- Preparing sleep study data for analysis
- Maintaining laboratory equipment
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- A Bachelor of Applied Science or equivalent
- The ability to work autonomously when necessary
- The desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- The ability to work a shift roster
