About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate Science educator to join a close-knit school community in Werribee. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) is available from 2024, focusing on teaching Science to students across Foundation to Year 6 as part of a dynamic Specialist team.
This role offers flexibility, with the possibility of additional days through classroom sharing arrangements. Whether you're a seasoned teacher or a recent graduate, we welcome your application and offer extensive support, including for those with permission-to-teach status.

Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.
Skills & Experience:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Science at a Primary level and/or general Primary in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
