The Opportunity:
We are seeking a friendly and organised Medical Receptionist to join our practice on a casual basis. For the right candidate, there is potential to transition into a permanent part-time position. As the face of our clinic, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients feel welcome and supported while providing vital administrative assistance.
Hours: 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM)
Immediate Start | On-site Staff Parking
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and assisting patients with professionalism and care.
- Managing incoming calls, emails, and patient enquiries.
- Booking appointments, including theatre scheduling.
- Processing patient accounts (invoicing, payments).
- Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists, and referring doctors.
- Preparing for clinic consulting days and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure smooth clinic operations on consulting days.
- Processing new referrals and correspondence.
About You:
We are looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and values teamwork. Your excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail will ensure the clinic operates seamlessly.
Essential Skills and Qualities:
- 1+ years of experience in medical reception or administration in a fast-paced setting (mandatory).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Medicare, overseas, and private health fund billing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and transcription.
- Strong multitasking skills, the ability to work under pressure and independently problem-solve.
- Previous experience with medical software (Clinic to Cloud experience is advantageous but not essential; training provided).
