Senior Associate Immigration & Administrative Law
Boyd Migration & Legal is a growing corporate and complex migration law firm. Fixed office is at University of Wollongong Innovation Campus. Floating office is at Clarence Chambers at Elizabeth Street Sydney.
We are seeking an immigration & administrative lawyer at senior associate level with 5+ years PAE.
The strategic vision is for the senior associate level lawyer to have the management of corporate clients and complex cases, and authority to submit to the Department and other agencies. The Principal Lawyer & Legal Practice Director is to focus on business development & training, with some oversight over certain matters.
The position will suit a senior associate level practitioner formerly of corporate immigration law firm and or Australian government solicitor. The candidate should have experience managing skilled visa programs for corporate sponsors and at least some exposure to public interest criteria matters, merits reviews and jurisdictional error (in the s5 AD(JR) Act sense)
Position particulars:
- Offering part time and remote work option for Sydney or Wollongong based practitioners;
- Position suitable for a parent;
- Position set between between legal practice director and junior lawyer;
- Supervision of junior lawyer 1.5+ year PAE plus graduate experience;
- Management of corporate migration programs and complex migration matters, with recourses of a junior lawyer and admin assistant;
- Phone and laptop provided;
- Must be an effective communicator in writing;
- Must be confident and effective in verbal communication with corporate clients;
- Must be confident and effective in verbal communication with individual clients on complex cases;
- Must have a solicitor’s attention to detail (the drudgery of legal work);
- Must efficiently synthesize immigration law practice and procedure into delivery of immigration & administrative law solutions.
Remuneration to be negotiated around current market rates and candidate location / availability.
